Edibles
Cannabis-infused food and drink. Stronger and longer-lasting — and they take time to kick in.

What it is
Edibles are eaten rather than inhaled, so they’re processed differently: effects come on slowly but last much longer and feel stronger. Dosing (in milligrams of THC) is everything.
Onset
30 minutes to 2 hours
Duration
4–8 hours
Best for
Strong, long-lasting, no smoke
The full picture
Edibles are the outlier. Because your body absorbs them through digestion, the effects come on slowly, hit harder, and last far longer than anything you inhale. Your liver converts THC into a more potent form, which is why a modest-sounding dose can feel surprisingly strong.
That delay is where almost every bad experience comes from: someone eats a gummy, feels nothing after 30 minutes, eats two more — and then all of it lands at once. The fix is simple and non-negotiable — know your milligrams, take one dose, and wait a full one to two hours before even considering more.
Step by step
- Check the dose
Read the label for mg of THC per piece. A common starting dose is 2.5–5 mg.
- Start low
Take a small amount, especially your first time or with a new product.
- Wait — really wait
Give it a full 1–2 hours before even considering more. This is the #1 rule.
- Redose slowly
If you want more, add a small amount and wait again.
What you’ll need
- A labeled edible with the mg of THC per piece clearly listed
- A little patience — the clock is the most important tool here
- Optionally a snack; a little food can smooth the come-up
Common mistakes
- Redosing early because “it isn’t working” — this is the number-one mistake.
- Not checking the mg per piece before eating.
- Treating a 100 mg package as one serving (it’s usually 10+ doses).
- Leaving edibles anywhere kids or pets could reach them.
Tips from our team
- Start low, go slow — the golden rule of edibles.
- Effects sneak up; don’t redose early.
- Eating with a little food can smooth the experience.
- Know your mg — it’s the number that matters most.
Stay safe
Edibles are potent and delayed — most bad experiences come from taking more too soon. Wait it out, and always keep edibles away from children and pets.

Edibles — common questions
How much should a first-timer take?
A common starting dose is 2.5–5 mg of THC. Take it, wait the full 1–2 hours, and only add more if you clearly want to. You can always take more; you can’t take less.
What if I take too much?
It’s uncomfortable but not dangerous. Find a calm space, hydrate, and let it pass — it fades on its own, and a little CBD can take the edge off. It always ends.
